You get a stable, isolated environment where you can hear what's actually going to tape. You can't do this in a loud venue. Lately anybody who has protools rig suddenly thinks they are qualified to do a mobile recording. Buying a piece of equipment doesn't make you a mobile recording expert any more than buying a wrench makes you a plumber!
